Meet Dr. Philip Schatz, The 6’9” Podiatrist.

From a young age Dr. Schatz, or Dr. Phil as he prefers to be called, has held an interest in medicine and helping others. Dr. Phil was initially introduced to podiatry through his own first hand encounters as a patient throughout his years of playing high school and college basketball.

Dr. Phil graduated from Baruch College with a Bachelor’s Degree in biology in 2008. He then went on to attend the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, graduating in 2013 as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

He continued his training at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, completing a residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. During this time, Dr. Phil received extensive hands on training in both medical management and surgical correction of foot and ankle conditions. In his final year, Dr. Phil was named Chief Resident in recognition of his excellent work ethic and stellar reputation within the hospital.

Dr. Phil is a Board Qualified Surgeon with The American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and is Board Certified with the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.

In his spare time Dr. Phil enjoys spending time with his wife, three young daughters, and large extended family. An animal lover, Dr. Phil also has a dog Benji, and a cat Jaeger. Dr. Phil is also a fan of the New York Yankees, the Indianapolis Colts, the Miami Heat, and the Nottingham Forest soccer team.

A lifelong New Yorker, Dr. Phil currently resides in Long Island but grew up in Brooklyn and Queens. Dr. Phil is excited to be able to return to Queens to treat foot troubles for fellow New York communities near and far and for patients of all ages.
